This painting is part of a recent series based on photos, sketches and my travel journals made during visits to Morocco. There are many stunning places to visit in Marrakesh including several palaces. This is based on a central courtyard of the Bahia palace in the medina. The palace is decorated with mosaics, painted paneling, carved wood and plaster work. Like the city itself, it is a visual treat and the reason why I have returned many times. At the moment I visit quite often in my imagination where new Moroccan paintings are still being created.
Now framed in a beech frame.
Medium: Mixed media on ply board
Size: 30cm by 30cm
