Mystical Woodland

This is part of a series of woodland paintings which have been inspired by walks in the local forest This one, I think, is particularly magical because of the unusual shapes and the deep colours.  Isn’t it strange how many traditional tales and children’s stories are set in forests? They are magical! In the days when children roamed freely you would often find me in the woodlands beside my home, exploring and making up stories.

Now framed in a beech frame.
